Harvest and Winemaking package
(starting at $195 per person)
Available during September and October Sundays through Thursdays

Help harvest the grapes and take a jug of juice home for your own winemaking efforts
Individual instruction included regarding pruning, vineyard management, and basic wine making

All package prices are subject to availability of accommodations, and are based on double occupancy. The starting price is based on the least expense room rate, and dinner certificate is based on $25 per person.

January/February
Winery Winter Warmups – Enjoy special tastings and offerings at Old Mission Peninsula wineries, restaurants, and bed & breakfasts. Cross-country skiing will be available on Saturday and Sundays at the Grey Hare Inn with a bonfire on Saturday night as well as complimentary juice tasting. Please call for event dates.
Winter ice wine harvest – date is very weather driven so please call ahead. Experience an Old World winter harvest of grapes that have been left on the vines until the exact conditions are met. After harvest we will take you on a personally escorted of the vineyard.
March & April: Wine and the Arts appreciation months
A sage once said “ Without the arts we don’t evolve, without food we don’t survive, and without wine we don’t enjoy”. Several events are scheduled, and more will be added, during these two months to encourage fully experiencing these three elements of the Northern Michigan lifestyle. Elements of a variety of art forms will be combined with those of wine and food to celebrate April’s Michigan Wine Appreciation month. April 13th
Sunday 2p. Celebrate the art of the club at the annual Mini-Masters Golf Outing. Guests at the inn can join owners Magnolia and Beauregaard Ruzak and their friends on the ever-reinvented midsized course set up on the Grey Hare Inn’s 27 acres. A past champions tournament will also be held on June 26th.
“Same Time Next Year” at the Old Town Playhouse April 18,19 and 24-26 features the name of the Grey Hare Inn as the location of the couple’s rendezvous. If a Romantic package is selected, tickets are included to the play.
Symphonic Specials – April 19th B, B, and B & B – stay at the Grey Hare Inn and receive tickets to the Traverse Symphony’s Beethoven and Brahms concert.

May 17-18
Celebrate agriculture amid the natural beauty of Old Mission Peninsula during the blossoming of the cherry trees. For $10 you’ll receive a special glass to be used as your ticket for the barrel tastings at each of the OMP wineries
Symphonic Specials – May 10th - stay at the Grey Hare and receive complimentary tickets to the Traverse Symphony concert in downtown Traverse City “Hollywood Favorites”. Or May 31 enjoy the final concert for the season that is being co-sponsored by the Grey Hare Inn, with Ralph Votapek performing Rachmaninoff , conducted by Kevin Rhodes

August 3
In conjunction with the Traverse City Film Festival the Grey Hare Inn is offering a “Walk in the Clouds” Haverst Stomp. After experiencing old world hand harvesting and stomping of grapes in a vat with your feet, enjoy a taste of the wine made from the inn’s grapes at Peninsula Cellars , hors d’oeuvres and a showing of the film “A Walk in the Clouds”.
August 24 and 31st
A “Stomp and Sail – enjoy an Old World Grape Harvest Stomp at the Grey Hare Inn followed by a 2 hour sail aboard the Tall Ship Manitou $100 per person
August-October
Experience grape harvest in an Old World way by hand picking grapes, stomping them with your feet in a vat, touring our boutique vineyard, then tasting the wine made from the inn’s grapes at nearby Peninsula Cellars. Two September “harvest days” are chosen by the end of August for the inn’s annual communal harvest party. Call ahead for reservations and date specifics, but private groups of 10 – 50 people can be scheduled anytime between August and October at a cost of $35 per person. The owners can provide some of the items home winemakers may need to further process their grapes at a reasonable cost, and can provide instruction or a connection with other processors to refine the grape juice into wine.
