Wine Boot Camp with winemaker Mark Johnson at Chateau Chantal
By attending one of Mark Johnson's wine seminars, you will get extensive experience pairing wine and food. You will also learn about wine, wine making, grape growing, and the art of wine tasting. Mark is a great storyteller, a non-intimidating wine instructor, and is adept at getting everyone involved. Sometimes his stories are even true! 2016 dates March 26, April 30

January 16 Winter Winery WarmUp Beat the winter blues with the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula. Savor delectable comfort food creations paired with wine – a duo sure to warm the insides. A variety of Old Mission Peninsula-based restaurants and businesses are getting in on the fun, too. They'll offer dining and retail specials for event guests. Make it a weekend retreat! $20 p/p

January 23 Sips and Soups This SOUPer event is hosted on the Leelanau Wine Trail from 12 - 5pm for $20 p/p, with $5 being donated to Leelanau Christian Neighbors organization. You'll enjoy a yummy soup and wine pairing at participating wineries along the trail. Tickets at www.lpwines.com

February 6 & 7 "Taste the Passion" Saturday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Love is in the air along the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail during this annual celebration of wine, chocolate and love! Indulge on delicious food and wine pairings and partake in optional winter activities.
Tickets are $35 per person and include a souvenir wine glass and a delicious Leelanau wine and small plate pairing of sweet or savory fare at each winery. It’s a great way to enjoy the peninsula’s winter wonderland.

February 13 "Romancing the Reisling" - It's a Love Affair to Remember
This annual event celebrates Riesling, one of the varietals for which our wine region is most celebrated. Each winery pairs favorite Rieslings with a delectable food offering – all in honor of the famed grape. Fair warning: It may get a little lovey dovey – WOMP fans are crazy about their Rieslings! $20 in advance $25 at the door.

March 19th "Sips, Chips and Dips" - a Leelanau free event from 12 -5p with each winery featuring a complimentary pairing of a snack and wine. To give you a sample of the sample Black Star Farms 2015 option was Mountain Dew Fondue and Funyuns paired with Isidor’s Choice Pinot Grigio.

April 30, May 1 "Spring Sip & Savor on Leelanau Wine Trail" Saturday 11:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday 12:00 to 5:00 pm, $35 per person
As our vineyards wake to the sun and warmth of May, enjoy delicious wine and food pairings and indulge in your senses Tickets are limited and typically sell out, so get yours TODAY! Tickets are $35 and a $5 donation for every ticket sold goes to the Bruce Simpson Winemakers Scholarship to help students in their quest for a career in viticulture or enology in Northern Michigan.


May 14th "Blossom Days" See Old Mission at the peak of springtime beauty with special offerings at the Wineries of Old Mission. Tickets go on sale 60 days before the event.

June 6th "Divas Uncorked" For a fun girl's night out on the Old Mission. Stay at the Grey Hare Inn during this traditionally sold out event for a quality friends getaway for two nights. Tickets go on sale 60 days prior so book early.

June 11th "Leland Wine and Food Festival" Always the second weekend in June this tradition continues with local award-winning wines, delicious specialties from local restaurants and vendors... while soaking up beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the Manitou Islands. Sept 10,11 "Leelanau's Harvest Stompede" This annual weekend features a spectacular race through Leelanau’s vineyards followed by a self-guided wine tour along the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail featuring world class wines and culinary delights that reflect the season’s bounty.

The Harvest Stompede Wine Tour starts on Saturday immediately following the race. The tour takes place from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and 12:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $40 and include a souvenir wine glass and a special wine pour and food pairing at each of 23 participating wineries along the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail. (Tickets do NOT include race registration.) To highlight the region’s culinary excellence, each winery will be partnering with farmers and restaurants to feature local ingredients in their food pairings.

October 23 -25 "The Hunt for the Reds of October" enjoy a free taste of the great reds grown on Leelanau with pinot noirs that are light and aromatic, or complex Merlots and Cabernet Francs for those who know the secret code. A portion of the weekends sales goes to the Red Cross.

November 11,12 "Toast the Season" on Leelanau

November 26, 2016 "Macaroni and Cheese Cookoff" Fantastic pairings of Old Mission wines and local restaurants in several categories of cheeziness. This event sells out early so get your tickets right away! Special related offerings at the Grey Hare Inn

October 8 or 9, Wine Making Camp - part 1 of 2 Harvesting Round Barn in Baroda, MI: they have narrowed it down to the 2 best days of the year; harvesting (October) and bottling (May). Although our camp experience is quite casual it will cover topics of vineyard work, the terroir of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA, and the art of winemaking and blending. Your Round Barn Camp Counselors, AKA our Winemaker and Staff, will guide you in crafting 2 cases of your very own red wine. To break it down, you’ll participate in the behind the scenes work, drink a little wine, learn a lot. Grey Hare Inn owners still have the sweatshirt splattered with red wine from this outing!
November 18 – 20th Grand Rapids International Wine and Food Festival – the third annual event at DeVos Place is already considered one of the largest wine events in the Midwest; featuring over 1200 wines, beers and spirits, more than a dozen restaurants, a variety of food and beverage seminars, and a marketplace of specialty and artisan food vendors.
